I believe this is a good attitude when it comes to sewing and crafts, or for anything in life as far as that goes.  As I said earlier, I recently bought a sewing machine and I've been experimenting with making clothes, accessories, and other craft items.  It's been quite a learning experience and I take one step at a time.  The gadget you use to rip out seams has become one of my most useful tools! 
 
Anyways, here is a shirt I made from an Easy-To-Sew Simplicity (4149) pattern, and a pretty batik fabric.  It was so cool to see the finished product and it actually fit!  If I can do it, I know any one of you out there can too!
